Our Minister is Rev Judy Sanderson. She began her ministry here at St Stephens, Applecross in August of 2016. What people say most about Judy is that she is authentic, and she loves God and people. We appreciate how our minister brings the scriptures to life through her reflections and opens them up from different perspectives. Her collaborative style of leadership presents ministry in a fresh and inviting manner.
Judy is originally from Atlanta, Georgia (USA) and lived in Dallas, Texas before migrating to Australia in 2004. Prior to entering ordained ministry, Judy worked as an Accountant at a CPA firm; as a case worker with low-income families at the City of Dallas Housing Commission, and as Multi-lit (literacy) Coordinator and tutor at Clontarf Aboriginal College. She did pastoral practicums at Bandyup Women’s Prison and Graylands Hospital along with field placement at Scarborough and Waterman’s Bay Uniting Church. Judy completed her Bachelor of Theology and Graduate Diploma in Chaplaincy at Murdoch University.
We are grateful to have Judy, and her husband Les, in ministry with us here at St Stephens Uniting Church, Applecross.
